Phyte Club Update June 26

It was a great week in the garden last week! We harvested 7 pounds of radishes, peas, lettuce and kale for the Worthington Resource Pantry. We ate rainbow Jello and mapped out the calendar for the rest of the summer, and did some general clean up and maintenance. Devin and I worked on the water system, so now there is a hose that runs all the way to the labyrinth without the need to unhook anything. We will continue to make improvements on that as we can. Right now it looks like the rain will be over by Tuesday at 6pm, so if that holds, then this week we will work on our cinder block project as well as doing more work to prepare the new bed (milpa) for planting. You may also notice that there is an old sandbox in the garden. Devin and I thought we might be able to build a rain garden or other interesting feature out of that, so be prepared to brainstorm creative ideas when you see it.
